Infinity - Aleph HVT and Thorakite with Combi Rifle

A few more Infinity models for you this week! I've been working hard on some of my Aleph models needed for a tournament at Firestorm Games in Cardiff this weekend. I have decided to go Vanilla Aleph for this tournament, as i took Steel Phalanx to a narrative tournament in Cheltenham a few weeks ago (and won best painted army, as well as the most epic game moment!) So time to mix it up this time.

First up is my HVT. Not essential for my army, but i've been using a Joan of Arc model as my HVT for over a year now, so its time to get a proper one done!

I really enjoyed working with the large flat (ish) areas on this model, as it gave me more of an opportunity to practice my shading and blending. It was also my first time painting white in this way, which was an experience! Not an easy colour to paint.

This Thorakite with Combi Rifle swiftly followed the HVT, completing the list needed for this weekend. This guy will be a cheeleader really, providing an extra order and specialist (Paramedic) to my second combat group.

The tournament is this Saturday, so come back next week to see how i did! Once thats out of the way i have lined myself up a 'treat model' for my Custodians in the form of.....well, you'll see!

Infinity - Aleph Yudbots

After many a painting session up to my eyes in gold, its time for a quick palette cleanse!

These 2 Yudbots have been languishing on my desk for quite some time. I've been messing around with a few new Aleph lists for up upcoming tournament at the end of July, and Yudbots have started to feature in them. They're going to really provide a lot of assistance for my poor Sophotects who spends all of her games legging it around the table on her own healing the troops!

Infinity - Aleph Myrmidon

Finishing this Myrmidon completes my first Steel Phalanx list! I do need an Agema with a Mk12 but the model isn't available and i'm not up for converting one yet. I'll proxy Atlanta in the meantime.

I'll get a game in soon and let you know how it goes. Link teams, FINALLY!

Infinity - Aleph Machaon

The completion of Machaon brings my first incarnation of my Steel Phalanx force to a very close completion. I have to say, this has got to be in the top 3 models that i've enjoyed painting! I feel like i made a few 'painting leaps' when painting this model. I feel like i was able to push the contrast beyond my usual limit which has helped make the details and shades pop more. Let me know what you think!

On the Table

So i have a frustrating amount of un- finished mini's at the moment, but i do have a few things linned up!

Mr Alpha Legion himself, Armillus Dynat! I have to admit, positioning his arms was a huge pain! I'm looking forward to working on him. But first...

Autilon Skorr! The Alpha Legions headsman is next on the painting block to give me a suitable warm up for Dynat. I'm planning to mess around a bit with oil paints on this mini, mainly to try and enhance the shadding against the two tone paint i use on the Alpha's.

Less of a WIP but more of a 'just need to buy some bases'! This is another Infinity Myrmidon with Chain Rifle for my budding Aleph Steel Phalanx force.

Machaon is also completed and destined for service in the Steel Phalanx! Once i get my bases from Antenocitis Workshop i'll get them finihsed off properly and better pictures taken.

In other news i've bought myself a copy of Dropfleet commander from the awesome Hawk Wargames! I've had my eye on this game for a very long time (didn't get on the kickstarter bandwagon unfortunately) and now finally had a chance to pick up a copy. I'll be doing an unboxing a review of it when it arrives, hopefully this week.

Infinity - Aleph Myrmidon Hacker

Now I've had a good scratch of that Heresy itch, its time to get a bit  more Infinity done!

Next  up is my Myrmidon Hacker. I choose her as i'm playing around with some ideas for a Steel Phalanx force so i can finally take advantage of some link teams!! She will most likely find a spot on the roster.

Infinity - Aleph Marut

I've had this guy/girl for a while now, and since completing him i've been dying to show him/her off! I'm not sure about the gender of this remote TAG, but i think the breasts lean it towards female for me.

As far as the model goes, its a pretty awesome sculpt! My only criticism is the manga bunny ears she is rocking! I guess the Multi HMG she's packing kinda up's the seriousness of the model though! That and the big ass sword! Its a good job to, as the Marut is the only TAG available to the Alpeh (if your not counting Achilles!)

For those of you who haven't seen a Marut in the flesh, here is a size comparison.

Very much looking forward to getting her on the battlefield!

Infinity - Aleph Phoenix and Eurodos

As my force has grown i've been really feeling the need to include some named characters in my force. The Aleph have plenty to choose from! I have gone for Phoenix and Eurodos.

Eurodos is first up, Mr Pasty as i've come to know him! I will have to go back and re-do his skin tones, they are just terrible!! Other than the pasty skin i like the model. To be honest though, i haven't really found his place in my armies yet. I'm not really sure what to do with him and his Mk12...more games will help i think!

Now here is someone i DO know what to do with! Phoenix, or the Ginger Ninja as i like to call him! Phoenix is packing a Heavy Rocket Launcher and can be your armies Lieutenant which is handy! I tend to run him as he is though, leaving army responsibilities to someone else. This leave him free to blast away with that Launcher! I'm not the adept at using him yet, but a few more games will see him settle comfortably into my force.

Infinity - Aleph Thorakite and Zayin Rebot

A double whammy today with a Thorakite with Chain Rifle and a Zayin Rebot with HMG.

I'm looking at getting a Steel Phalanx force off the ground soon, so bought the starter set. The Thorakites are the foot soldiers of the Steel Phalanx (along with the Myrmidons) so it seemed like the best place to start! This guy is packing a Chain Rifle.

To bolster the vanilla Aleph i cracked on with a Zayin Rebot with HMG. This is a great choice for an army, but they are a NIGHTMARE to put together!! To the point where i won't buy another model based on this chassis until they're re sculpted! Shame really, a Total Reaction HMG is a valuable asset! I am very happy with the paint job though.

Infinity - Aleph Myrmidon Officer

What good is a band of bass ass Myrmidons without an officer to lead them. For that i drafted in a Myrmidon Officer! I really like this  model, she's got a real 'i'm gonna slice your face off!' look about her!

I modeled her with a Combi Rifle, but regret that choice now...I always use the Boarding Shotgun profile!! Doh... Her Chain of Command ability is especially useful as the Aleph Lieutenants tend to be a bit obvious! This means if i loose my Lieutenant, the army does not retreat as the Myrmidon Officer takes command automatically. This is something the ISN'T so obvious!

Infinity - Aleph Ekdromoi

These are interesting troops. They have a real talent for messing up enemy plans with their Advanced Deployment rules (that's Deep Strike in old money!) I've actually got 2 of these guys, but only painted one for now. I really enjoy playing them, but admittedly he doesn't make it into my lists as much anymore. Mainly due to the high cost of Asura's!! Shame really, because he does look like a bad ass!

Infinity - Aleph Atlanta

Firstly i hope you all had a nice Christmas! It's really not my bag, but for those of you who do celebrate, Happy Christmas! Now to business...

Ah the lovely Atlanta! I've had my eye on her for a while! Lovely model, even more lovely rules! BS 17 with her TinBot spotter, packing a Multi Sniper and an MSV Lv2! Just like her missile launching comrade, she will happily hold a flank all on her own. She was definately my MVP in the Tournament i went to in Cheltenham in September - more on that next post!
